If you’re one of those Path of Exile players which strive to reach the end-game and farm bosses such as Uber Izaro, Uber Elder and Shaper or even Uber Atziri, you’ve come to the right place. Our 6 Best Path Of Exile Boss Killer Synthesis Builds were carefully picked from many different builds in order to be capable of killing and farming bosses efficiently whilst remaining viable on a certain budget, even if you’re not so experienced at the game. Picking the right 3.6 build for you is the most important thing in PoE, especially when you want to do some good ol’ boss killing because it’s a great way to earn ridiculous amounts of currency in a low amount of time (especially during new leagues, the players that farm Atziri on day one become dirty rich).

The Glacial Cascade miner builds have been excellent boss killers for quite a few leagues now. With the launch of Synthesis, not much has changed other than a small tweak nerf to GC. Even with the nerf though, this build remains one of the strongest boss killer builds in PoE. The linked build guide features two build versions, one Life/MoM which is for those on a low budget or that are just starting out and a Low life version which is a lot more expensive (but of course deals more damage). The power of GC comes from the mines, since you can stack plenty of them on the ground and then pop them once a boss becomes vulnerable, you can pretty much skip some Boss mechanics. For example, when you are doing Atziri you can just stack up a couple of mines before the vaals spawn and pretty much one shot them both, lowering the chances of you dying in boss kill runs. Although this is a very powerful PoE boss killer build, it lacks survivability (your eHP will be quite low, somewhere around 5-6K) therefore it is only viable for Softcore Synthesis (although, if you’re experienced and know how to tweak the passive tree to get more life you can run it in Hardcore Synthesis too, many do).
Warchief Totems have been ridiculously strong since they’ve been introduced to the game, they do crazy amounts of damage whilst also allowing you to keep your distance from enemies– lowering the chances for you to get one shot, which is important especially in Uber boss fights. The linked build is based around the Facebreaker gloves which are extremely powerful (you can even play with weapons and achieve similar results, if you can’t afford a highly rolled pair of Facebreaker gloves). The great thing about Ancestral Warchief Totem builds is that they allow you to steamroll most content on a budget, you can level with them quite easily and reach end-game with crazy DPS numbers and still have high defenses. The downside of Ancestral Warchief Totem boss killer build is that most people find totem builds very boring to play, so if you’ve looked up some gameplay videos and don’t like the “you deal 0 damages and have to wait for your totems to clear stuff while you run around” playstyle then I advise you pick one of the other PoE Synthesis boss killer builds.
Chaos Innoculation builds (CI) are finally in the meta since the launch of Synthesis league. With the huge buffs to CI (ES leech, the new Energy Leech gem that gives %more damage while leeching ES, Occultist is a tank now…) it’s the perfect time to try out a CI boss killer. The build itself is quite tanky, even on budget gear and during Betrayal RaizQT was running a version of this build to farm Uber Shaper and make a truckload of currency really fast. Along with high ES and leech, you’ll also be chilling and freezing your enemies which increases the safety of this build by a lot so it’s definitely viable for Hardcore Synthesis. Please note that even though we refer to “low budget” here, as CI is meta now in Synthesis, CI items may be more expensive now so check the gearing section of the build and look up similar items on PoE Trade to know how much currency you’ll need to start up this powerful PoE Synthesis boss killer.
The Volatile Dead builds are most definitely one of the best PoE Synthesis boss killer builds. By going Volatile Dead you pretty much have auto-aim because of the VD balls that run down enemies, making this build also great for general clearing. The fact that you can stack up the VD balls before fights makes it even more powerful, because you can skip certain boss mechanics (like miner builds). I played a VD Poet’s Pen Juggernaut back during Delve league, 10k Life with (~10 Ex) gear at level 90, I was steamrolling through bosses and delves on Hardcore and that build was literally unkillable. Uber Lab farming (Uber Izaro) is a joke for VD builds, Atziri as well (although, reflect phase of Atziri is sketchy). To counter the Atziri mirror phase, use Detonate Dead instead because it can’t be reflected (VD balls can do reflect damage to you and you’ll insta rip). This PoE Synthesis boss killer build is Hardcore and Softcore viable, making Uber Izaro and Shaper incredibly easy fights.
The Lightning Scourge Arrow build was first introduced to us by Mathil, which he used to completely shred through Uber Shaper, Uber Elder and really all other bosses. The Scourge Arrow builds are excellent boss killers because of the incredibly high DPS but that DPS comes at a cost of life. With this build (and really any bow builds other than EH) you’ll be struggling to reach more than 6K life, which is great for Softcore Synthesis players but it is definitely sketchy for Hardcore. I would only attempt this build in Hardcore Synthesis if you know boss mechanics really well, can dodge shots and you are prepared to drop a lot of currency in the build. Overall, Scourge Arrow builds are a great boss killing build choice.
Lastly, a Melee Boss Killer. Molten Strike has always been one of the strongest melee boss killing skill, especially if you’ve got enough currency to sink into it to min-max the damage. This PoE Synthesis boss farmer build is incredibly tanky (9k life) on a budget and it can deal serious amounts of damage which scales really well with the amount of currency you can use to improve the gear and jewels. Boss farming with the Molten Strike Juggernaut is a complete breeze as you’ll be able to facetank pretty much any boss in the game, making it a great build to practice Uber Elder and Uber Shaper, or even Uber Atziri. Molten Strike is one of the few skills that isn’t exactly trash in the current meta, even though melee is not really a thing in 3.6 Synthesis.
