The Incursion Flashback event will start at 9 AM Saturday August 4th (NZT) and will run until 10 AM Tuesday August 28th (NZT). This Flashback event will have rotating mods from the 11 most Popular PoE leagues and a single mod will be in an Area for one hour before being randomly switched to a different Area.
The mods that you can come in contact with other than the Incursion ones will be: Anarchy, Invasion, Breach, Ambush, Torment, Perandus, Beyond, Nemesis, Bloodlines, Abyss and Harbinger. This means that your venture as an Exile will be hard and you should pick a build that suits your play-style, does enough damage and has high defenses. Below are some of the best low budget builds that you can play to have an easier start during the Flashback Incursion event, these should allow you to pass most of the desired content easily enough even in SSF if you choose to do so and most importantly these builds are BEGINNER FRIENDLY.
Strongest Incursion Flashback Builds
Note that all of these builds work for PoE 3.3 and up, the guides have both high and low budget versions of Gear so you should not worry about these being somewhat expensive, even if they require a certain Unique to work by the time you need it you will have enough Chaos Orbs to buy it.
Some of the best Loot Filters can be found HERE in case you need one.
For those that don’t know, SSF is Solo Self-Found, HC is Hardcore and SC is Softcore.
DirtyDot’s Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist – What makes this build an excellent Incursion Flashback League starter (even SSF) is the fact that it does not depend on any uniques or expensive items. This build is fairly tanky (7-8k effective HP) and has very high single target damage even though Blade Vortex itself is a great skill for map clearing due to its AoE. The only downside of this build is that you have to be in melee range to do damage, which can sometimes be very dangerous depending on your setup and how much defenses/leech you have. This build is SSF, HC, SC viable and has a low budget.
99Prosorc’s Earthquake / Sunder Juggernaut – Uber Lab / Guardians – League Starter – Earthquake or Sunder builds are great because of their simplicity, high damage and great defenses. This build has high versatility, meaning you can swap between Earthquake and Sunder whenever you want without feeling a big difference (let’s say you drop a high DPS weapon that Sunder can’t use but Earthquake can, the you just swap the spell gems!). The Earthquake / Sunder Juggernaut does not depend on any Unique Items to perform well, although they will boost your DPS by a lot. This build is SSF, HC, SC viable and has a low budget, it also works great as a Uber Lab Farmer.
Trudikampfschaf’s Lightning Arrow Slayer – Beginner friendly – Lightning Arrow is one of the strongest Bow skills in PoE, it has decent clear speed and works well on single target if there are some monsters around the boss, otherwise it kind of lacks the single target damage. By swapping in Blast Rain you pretty much solve your issues if you ever had any, and the build itself is quite tanky for a Bow character by utilizing Phase Acrobatics. This build is SSF, HC (If you know what you’re doing), SC viable and has a low budget.
Lifting’s Uber Lab Warchief Totem Champion – The Warchief Totems are absolute beasts, they do crazy amounts of damage (both single target and AoE) while being extremely safe because you just pop the Warchief Totem and run around until everything dies (usually pretty fast). The build itself does high damage even without fancy Uniques but it is always open to high cost upgrades! This build is one of the best starter ones for Incursion Flashback Race beginners because it can steamroll content with just a good weapon, it is SSF, HC, SC viable and has a low budget.
FunRoom’s Ignite Elemental Hit – The Ignite Elemental Hit is a very viable Incursion Flashback League starter as this build’s core items are not expensive, 20 Chaos can get you going and after that anything else is just an upgrade. This build features high clear speed, decent single target damage and many skill tree variations you can pick to suit your play-style, such as going Acrobatics/MoM/Blood Magic and even changing to the Trickster Ascendancy. This build requires some jewels to be found/bought therefore it’s not good for SSF but it is HC, SC viable and has a low budget.
Lifting’s Quad Frostbolt Totems Hierophant – The Frostbolt Totems build is an alright build to start with, it provides you with high survivability and decent clear speed at the cost of single target damage. It is not recommended to do this build if you intend to farm end game bosses, that said, all the other content should be relatively easy even in just Rare Items. The goal of this build is to get a 6L Staff, but it is not mandatory. This build is SSF, HC, SC viable and has a low budget.
Koloxus’s Incinerate Ignite PoE Build – Incinerate Ignite builds are quite strong because you can leech while channeling Incinerate and apply Ignite which goes in favor for the Immolate Support. The build itself is quite hard to play as it requires high knowledge of the PoE content and good positioning, it can be expensive depending on what kind of content you want to do and it’s not very tanky. Some of the jewels used in this build are expensive, therefore you’ll need some lucky drops to make this build work as a league starter. This build is HC and SC viable and has a medium budget.
Demigodkinglol’s Ignite Flameblast Elementalist (Video Build Guide) – Flameblast has always been an excellent starter skill especially for SSF (solo self-found) racers because you get it pretty early in the game and it’s one of the strongest Fire spells out there. This build has decent survivability considering its high damage and great clear speed. This build is SSF, HC, SC viable and has a low budget.
Ghazzy’s MoM Essence Drain & Contagion Trickster – This build the highest exp/h gain if you’re looking to grind in order to reach the highest possible level more quickly to obtain the Demigod’s Dominance in the Incursion Flashback Race. The build itself works awesome because ED & Contagion don’t need additional damage from items early on, meaning that this build can start on an extremely low budget and be upgraded to one of the most expensive builds out there which at that point, can even kill Atziri. MoM, 2 curses and 200% Life from the tree make this build insanely tanky, therefore this build is SSF, HC, SC viable and has a low to high budget.
Tybbber’s Champion Chin Sol full fire Blast Rain/RoA – The Blast Rain/Rain of Arrows build features: fast clear speed, insane single target damage and all around good survivability. The build is built around farming end game bosses and overall any hard content but it has a hard time doing Lab and leveling as a Bow character early on. You can start really cheap with this build and end up doing high damage, Chin Sol is just about the only requirement. This build is HC, SC viable and has a low to high budget.
Angry_Roleplayer’s Arc/Lightning Spire Traps Saboteur PoE Build – Arc Trappers have become really popular in the latest version of PoE and will remain common in the Incursion Flashback Race, they are a favorite among Streamers and Racers due to the fact it’s a really simple build yet effective. Traps work well on a budget, offer reflect negation, the clear speed is nice and overall single target damage is not too bad either. This build is end-game viable and has a high life regeneration percentage but lacks health and overall defenses which makes it not so good for HC unless you alter your gear and Passive Skill Tree to have more life. This build is SSF, SC viable and has a low budget.
Bashtart’s Spark Inquisitor – Spark has been meta for a long time, and Spark Inquisitors are still top notch farming builds, especially for magic find focused characters in the Incursion Flashback Race. This build excels in clear speed, high single target damage and very safe for mapping although you need to be focused versus Bosses because this build is not able to facetank everything. This build is SSF, HC, SC viable and has a low to medium budget.
Torchbearer’s Off-Screen Summoner – This Summoner build is one of the safest and strongest Summoner builds out there, especially for beginners. It’s extremely safe to play (up to 13k effective HP) and cheap to build while being able to clear all the PoE content solo. The only downside of this build (as with all Summoner builds) is that it’s gem slot starved early in the game so you will need the RNG gods to bless you with Jeweler Orbs. This build features a horde of up to 100 menacing Summons zapping around and killing everything in their way. This build is SSF, HC, SC viable and has a low starting budget.
JessicaSc2’s Freezing Pulse Temple Farming Occultist – The Freezing Pulse Occultist build is one of the most fun builds to play. It has great clear speed even with cheap gear and its survivability is also quite high because it uses crit and crit charges to freeze enemies while having 8k eHP to protect against any hits that the enemies might do before you freeze and shatter them to death. This build can do Shaper, Temple and Guardians pretty comfortably and is overall a great build for leveling but it does lack some single target damage if your gear is not optimized. This build is SSF, HC, SC viable and has a low budget (it gets more expensive once you transition to ES).
GornoDD’s Molten Strike Juggernaut – This Juggernaut Molten Strike build has defenses while maintaining crazy amounts of DPS. It can burst down Uber-Elder and farm really any content in the game (including Atziri). The build can achieve 9k HP, 80% Max Resists and 1.7m DPS which results in very fast clear speed and farming of Uber Lab easily. Endgame gear can be quite expensive for this build, but the guide has an option for ‘League Starters’ where you can find every substitute for the Unique item you might be missing. This build is definitely SSF, HC, SC viable and has a low to high budget.
Rhah’s Righteous Fire Juggernaut – This build is doable in new Leagues, but you do have to note that some (even cheap) Unique items are absolutely required if you plan to run RF without dying. Therefore you will have to play with a different skill such as Firestorm or Flameblast for the first few days until some of the required Uniques start popping up for sale. Righteous builds are always tanky and have excellent clear speed but lack single target damage and some Map Mods are simply instant death for you. The Righteous Fire Juggernaut build is HC, SC viable and has a medium budget.
VisorX’s Freezing Pulse Totem Hierophant – With the 3.3 version of the game Freezing Pulse received quite of a buff which made Freezing Pulse by far the best Totem skill in this meta making it an excellent Totem build for the Incursion Flashback Race. This build requires absolutely nothing to start it other than 2 Threshold Jewels which are pretty easy to acquire. It features 8k effective HP and MoM which alongside Totems makes this build very tanky. This build can farm Shaper, Guardians, Atziri and also switch to a Magic Finder variants for those that prefer grinding Maps. The Freezing Pulse Totem Hierophant build is SSF, HC, SC viable and has a low budget.
99Prosorc’s Budget Magic Finder Deadeye – This build is focused on farming for Divination Cards and Currency in the Incursion Flashback Race. It offers an easy and cheap way to get outstanding amounts of currency by farming the T3 Burial Chambers and T4 Volcano Maps. The starter setup is really easy to acquire to get you going and with 180% increased Life alongside Tornado Shot being a ranged Skill it is a very safe setup for farming. This build is HC, SC viable and has a low to medium budget.
