Remnant: from the Ashes offers a variety of ways to customize your character and build a custom loadout that fits your playstyle. In particular, Traits are incredibly important because they are the things that define your character build the most, along with weapon mods. Each Remnant: from the Ashes class has a Trait that defines it, so figuring out what is the best class for you is an important part of choosing the loadout. In this article we'll be covering the best Remnant: from the Ashes builds that are great for beginners and new players to this game.
Note - Remnant: from the Ashes just came out so these character Builds and Loadouts are still a subject to change. In case we find some better items and combinations, we'll make sure to update this guide!

Ex-Cultist Critical Hit Loadout
The best armor for a critical hit/dps character are currently Osseous and Radiant Armor. Both are excellent and Osseous is easy to acquire, you can find how to get it in our secret locations guide.
Osseus armor is great for clearing groups of monsters because it grants you 7/15/25 percent increased damage dealt for 5 seconds each time you kill an enemy. This effect is obviously not very good versus some bosses, so the Radiant set is a better choice for bossing.
Radiant Set provides you with increased critical hit chance and damage each time you get a critical hit. Since this Ex-cultist build relies on critical hits, it's the perfect armor for this particular loadout.
Ruin, Sniper Rifle, Devastator and the Assault Rifle are all excellent choices for this character build as a primary weapon because they have high damage that scales well with the critical hits. Do note that if you're running the Radiant Set then obviously Sniper Rifle won't synergize well with its set bonus, therefore something with high APS is preferred like the Assault Rifle.
As for the secondary weapon, SMG works fine as it has incredibly high attack rate which will boost you to maximum Momentum stacks quickly. It's also relatively easy to acquire which is also a plus.
The melee weapon doesn't really matter in this loadout since it is mid-long range based so any melee weapon of your choice will be fine to fill in the slot.
Stone of Balance increases ranged damage by 10%.
Devouring Loop makes your Critical Hits have a 10% chance to deal 300% bonus damage.
Braided Thorns increases Critical Chance by 15% for 6 seconds after slaying an enemy.
All of these Rings are great for a crit build, if you're bossing obviously Stone of Balance and Devouring Loop are better. Otherwise, Braided Thorns and Devouring Loop are better for pack clear.
Gunslinger's Charm is best in slot here, if you have trouble dodging enemies then Pocket Watch might be better, you can find how to get it here.
Placing points into Quick Hands, Exploiter, Kingslayer, Executioner, Mind's Eye and Trigger Happy will work fine. Choose which ones you prioritize depending on your playstyle, personally I'd go for Executioner first and then Kingslayer.
Hot Shot is an incredible weapon mod for this build because it boosts the damage dealt by 20% along with setting the target on fire, dealing additional DOT.
Hunter's Mark is also a good choice because it increases your critical chance against marked enemies.
Hunter Sniper Stealth Loadout
Hunter or Osseous Armor sets are good choices. Hunter set is best in slot because it increases Weak Spot damage on targets that are 15+ meters away from you. In case you can't get the Hunter set then obviously Osseous is a good backup until you can because it provides you with additional damage once you kill an enemy.
Equip Hunting Rifle, Sniper Rifle, Beam Rifle and Particle Accelerator depending on which stage of the game you are e.g. which item you've unlocked. Particle Accelerator in particular seems to deal the most base damage.
It's good to have a SMG for the secondary weapon, just in case you need to burst down an enemy quickly. If your aim is good, Magnum Revolver is also a solid, easy to get choice.
If you're playing the Sniper build then you shouldn't be within melee range of monsters at any time. Melee weapon doesn't really matter for this loadout either.
Fill your two Ring slots with Stone of Balance and Hunter's Band. As mentioned previously, Stone of Balance gives a nice ranged damage increase while Hunter's Band increases weak spot damage by 25%-- which this long-range build is all about.
Brutal Mark allows you to deal even more damage to bosses and just completely burst them down quickly if you're accurate.
Mind's Eye - increased ranged damage
Handling - decreased recoil
Shadow Walker - decreases enemy awareness (allows you to be more stealthy)
Exploiter - increases weak spot damage
Mother's Blessing - decreases ranged damage taken
Quick Hands - increased reload speed
Blink Token - teleports you, good for repositioning
Hot Shot - great damage boost
Flicker Cloak - additional shield versus ranged hits
Scrapper Melee/Shotgun Loadout
Pure melee is not really viable at the moment during early game and some content, but for those of you hardcore slash first, ask questions later players that like a challenge this build may work fine.
Void and Akari Armor sets are clear choices for this close combat build. The Void set increases all of your damage whenever you're hit, while Akari Armor boosts Melee damage and Critical chance when you dodge attacks. Obviously, the Void set is better if you plan on taking damage more often. If you're capable of dodging most of the attacks then Akari is better, though you'll lose out on Shotgun damage buffs so you'll have to be purely melee.
The primary weapon is going to be the Shotgun since it's one of the best close ranged weapons that you can use.
The secondary weapon doesn't matter all that much, though the SMG may be able to dish out a lot of damage close range.
Melee slot goes to the close combat weapon of your choice. Each melee weapon has its unique playstyle and mechanics. If you want to deal AoE damage, Petrified Maul is great and not that hard to obtain.
Band of Strength, Gravity Stone and Root Circles are awesome choices for a big damage increase. Though, you might find yourself needing more survivability in most cases. If you have problems surviving fights then go for a resist/hp ring setup instead.
Twisted Idol and Pocket Watch are going to be your main choices here depending on your playstyle. If you get hit a lot, Twisted Idol. In case you can dodge, Pocket Watch for the Stamina regen and reduced cost of dodging.
The melee build often has trouble surviving, therefore you need more survivability perks here.
Keeper's Blessing, Glutton, Triage, Bark Skin, Will to Live, Guardian's Blessing are all good defensive choices.
For a bit more damage, go for Warrior.
Corrosive Aura for reducing enemy armor.
Mender's Aura, Flicker Cloak and Mantle of Thorns for more survivability.
Incredible End-game Melee Loadout
credits to insan3d for coming up with this one.
This melee build is absolutely viable for endgame content as it's able to one-shot bosses along with applying a bleed which will finish them off if the initial hit doesn't.
The Akari Armor set is BiS for this endgame melee build because it gives a huge boost to melee damage and critical strike chance which will allow you to one-shot enemies much easier.
The secondary weapon doesn't matter much, it just has to have the Hunter's Mark mod which increases critical strike chance versus marked enemies (increases crits for allies too).
Beam Rifle is the primary weapon of choice. This one is useful for applying a burn to the boss via Hot Shot mod.
Which melee weapon you choose for this build is very important. World Breaker and Riven are both incredible choices. World Breaker gives you AoE and Knockback while Riven offers great sustain via lifesteal.
Razor Stone and Devouring Loop are crucial parts of this loadout because they boost overall DPS by a huge amount which you'll definitely need for end-game content.
When you're in melee range and have to dodge enemies, Stamina matters a lot. Pocket Watch is an easy to get amulet which can last you through the whole playthrough with this build. It's incredible for Stamina sustain and certainly one of the most powerful amulets in the game.
