Going to the Vanguard of the Three area will be crucial in getting the Chillheart Legendary Sword. When you get there, search for the green circle that will apply damage over time whenever you stand in it. Make sure to survive for 16 seconds inside the green circle, as you’ll get rewarded with Chillheart after doing so. The Chillheart will appear on the ground for you to pick up and make sure you save it.
If you’re playing on Hardcore, this part may be hard for you as you must not die! Make sure to use Health Potions, Aether Cluster or any other shielding spell. For those of you that play on Softcore, this part should really not be a problem.
Finding the Six Secret Seals
Conclave of the Three area is the next part of your search for the Crate of Entertainment secret boss. Once you get there you’ll notice a hidden cellar entrance near the Cult of Dreeg area. Inside the hidden cellar, you’ll find a chest, urn and a secret lore note inside an “Unassuming Crate”. Destroy the Unassuming Crate and it will give you a hint that there are 6 hidden seals across the Forgotten Gods expansion.
Six Seal Locations
Now that you know what the secret six seals are, and what part they play in the lore of this Crate of Entertainment secret quest, you’ll have to find and destroy them. The Six Seals are morphed as the “Unassuming Crates” (you’ve seen one earlier). Once the last of the Unassuming Crates have been destroyed you’ll get a creepy message saying endless sand visions will overwhelm your mind.
The second secret Seal is located just north of the Temple City of Osyr, you’ll find it near the end of that hidden passage.
The third secret Seal will take you a bit of time to locate as the Sunbane Oasis area has a lot of bridges and passages. Though, the second Seal should be located Northeast from the Cairan Docks Rift.
Following the Vanguard of the Three Rift area will get you to a breakable wall which unlocks the passage to the fourth secret Seal.
The fifth secret Seal is hidden behind a breakable wall just South of Korvan City Rift.
The sixth secret Seal will have you travel through two destructible walls after Tomb of the Eldritch Sun rift and once you’ve destroyed it you’re ready to move on to the next part of the Crate of Entertainment secret quest.
Crate Entertainment Ground Logo
Locating the Crate Entertainment ground logo is the next step to our Crate of Entertainment secret quest walkthrough. During your playtime, you might have even passed it without knowing what it means.
Note – don’t forget to take Chillheart with you as it’s important for this part of the Crate of Entertainment secret quest.
Going to the Cairan Docks and locating the area shown on the screenshot will put you right on the Crate Entertainment ground logo, once you stand on it you’ll unlock a hidden passage that will get you inside Bonebleach Basin. Progressing NE through Bonebleach Basin will take you to the next part but beware– it’s going to test if you’re worthy of it first. As you walk through Bonebleach Basin you’ll encounter a deadly sandstorm that is going to deal damage over time onto your character.
In order to survive the sandstorm, you’ll have to utilize your character’s leech and health potions, as well as Aether Clusters. Having a movement skill might prove invaluable as well, and make sure to use the safe spots where sandstorm can’t damage you (their locations are shown in the image below).
Once you’re at the the Altar, use Chillheart to activate it as it will open the portal to Edge of Reality.
Note – bring a Skeleton Key with you if you want to finish the Devotion Shrine in this quest.
Fighting Crate of Entertainment in the Edge of Reality
When entering the edge of reality, you’ll find yourself in a room with a Devotion Shrine (which takes a Skeleton Key to restore) and 5 colored levers. You have to pull them in the right order. If you make an error, they will reset after a few seconds.
Finding Crate of Entertainment
Once you’ve teleported into the Edge of Reality area you’ll find a room with a devotion shrine and five different levers. Pulling the levers in the order of: white, yellow, green, blue and purple will open a door behind the Devotion Shrine. The hidden door will take you to a new area which has a lot of maggots.
The goal now is to find and kill the “Perfectly Usual Oversized Maggot” who will open a portal for you to the next area.
After you’ve taken the Maggot portal, you’ll enter a checkpoint area which leads to the last secret area of the Devils Crossing. Inside this area, you’ll find the Crate of Entertainment secret boss which is accompanied by other allied crate enemies which will split into smaller enemies and freeze you. When you’ve killed Crate of Entertainment, he will drop a Mildly Amusing Box– a legendary helmet and along with that he has a 25% chance to drop Wilhelm’s Wondrous Wargem which is the most popular leveling amulet in Grim Dawn.
How to beat the Crate of Entertainment boss
Single Target damage builds thrive in this fight because you’ll want to not trigger the small boxes because they will freeze you. Therefore, luring Crate of Entertainment will play a crucial part in this fight to make it a lot easier and make sure to stay ranged as facetanking the boss is incredibly dangerous (RIP in HC).
