Class Tier List Descriptors

S+ Tier - Overpowered. MS2 classes that are perfect for the min-maxers who enjoy melting bosses and reaching ultra high damage numbers.
S Tier - Very Strong. MS2 classes which are quite strong in the current patch.
A Tier - Balanced. These MS2 classes are very viable, especially for casual playing.
C Tier - Underpowered. These  MS2 classes are considered weak in the current meta and should be avoided if you don't enjoy killing a single boss for 20 minutes.

S+ Tier

Heavy Gunner is the king of ranged DPS with high end maxed out gear. This class has the highest range, great mobility and fast clear speed at the cost of some health.

S Tier

Maplestory 2 Class Tier List Wizard

Wizard is a class that utilizes the elements of fire, ice and lightning. This class has many high damage dealing spells along with some AoE. The ability to teleport is great but the class lacks health and defense. Wizard is arguably the best beginner's class.
Wizard Build Guide

Assassin is a class that utilizes the luck stat therefore critical hit scaling is a must. This class is focused around kiting the enemies, therefore playing very smart (if done so, it can be one of the highest DPS classes in the game).
Assassin Build Guide

Berserker is the strongest melee class. This class is very hard to play because being in close combat with high level enemies can be suicide.  As a result, playing smart and having good gear is crucial for berserkers.
Berserker Build Guide

Runeblade is the latest Maplestory 2 class. This class infuses its blade with Fire, Ice and Lightning to perform decimating attacks. Runeblade is quite easy to play because this hero can hit from both melee and range, replenish 20 SP/sec and move really quickly.

A Tier

Knight is a naturally defense based class that has skills which focus on protecting itself and their allies. This class is known to have great Crowd Control potential and extremely high defense at the cost of mobility and damage.
Knight Build Guide

Archer is an often overlooked class. Archers have great mobility, damage and range but require high skill and expensive gear to become comparable to some other classes in term of PvM.
Archer Build Guide

Priest is a support based class that focuses on healing themselves and their allies. This class is known to replenish SP, shield itself and allies as well as increase the damage that nearby enemies take which makes it an awesome character for group play. Priest is not recommended for solo players that like to do PvM.

C Tier

Thief uses movement speed and evasion to their advantage while enemies die from poisoning. Therefore, Thief is not that good as it requires an extremely high skill cap to be played effectively. The low range and having to wait for DoT to kill enemies is very bad because you'll often get hit a lot.
