Maplestory 2 Heavy Gunner Build Guide
Heavy Gunners are arguably one of highest damage dealing Maplestory 2 Class currently. Heavy Gunner is viable for any dungeon and clearing content is pretty fun because of the explosive skills. They have medium mobility and no shields make Heavy Gunner a character prone to getting one shot (Heavy Gunners have a heal, but what's a heal worth if you're dead from 1 hit). Even though Heavy Gunner has bad survivability, it is still a relatively easy class to play, making it an excellent beginner's pick. These are the focused stats for our Heavy Gunner Build Guide.
Weapon: Piercing > Physical Attack > Total Damage > Physical Piercing.
Headgear/Suit/Top/Bottom: Boss Damage > Physical Attack.
Gloves: Boss Damage > Physical Piercing.
Shoes: Boss Damage.
Cape: Piercing > Boss Damage > Critical Damage/Critical Rate.
Belt: Piercing > Boss Damage > Critical Damage/Critical Rate.

Heavy Gunner Attribute Points
Heavy Gunners can be built two ways: Critical Rate or Dexterity. I personally recommend placing all your points into Dexterity because it makes your overall DPS consistent. Crit builds work well too but having bad luck can cost you a lot, especially in Hard Dungeons where max respawn is only 5 times. Do note that attribute point resets are free, so experiment until you find the best Heavy Gunner attribute point setup for yourself. For example if you have a lot of Critical Damage on gear it is usually better to go full Critical Rate in AP's than Dex.
Heavy Gunner Skills
|Jet Boots||Heavy Gunner propels 6m forward and leaves a shockwave that deals 120% damage to 5 enemies in an area of 1.5m.|
Costs 60 Stamina
|Restores 50 SP two times every 0.25 seconds.|
|Heavy Gunner fires wildly, dealing 39% damage 4 times to the closes enemy up to 8m in front. The bullet can't pierce multiple enemies, pressing the skill again triggers a 2-hit combo.|
|Deals 44% damage 3 times to 5 enemies up to 8m in front of you. This bullet pierces enemies and pressing the skill can trigger 3-hit combos.|
Costs 5 Spirit
|Fires a missile at the closest enemy (up to 9m). The missile deals 152% fire damage, then explodes for 167% fire damage to up to 8 enemies within 3m. The explosion area burns for 3s dealing 51% damage every tick to up to 8 enemies.|
Costs 20 SP
|Launches a Magnetic Bomb at the closest enemy (up to 9m) which attracts 8 enemies and deals 165% electric damage whilst decreasing their movement speed by 3%|

|Heavy Gunner tosses two stun grenades which explode after 0.5 to deal 133% fire damage to up to 5 enemies and it also has a 64% chance to stun them.|

|Shoot a special bullet 8m in front of you that deals 446% damage and can pierce 8 times.|

|Fire 3 homing missiles that deal 88% fire damage to enemies within 9m.|

|Activate the particle accelerator on your weapon to gather electricity and shoot, dealing 455% electric damage to 3 enemies up to 9 m in front of you and knocking them back 1.5m. Hold the skill key down for 0.5 sec to enhance the effect to Stage 2 and deal 455% electric damage 2 times to 5 enemies up to 9m in front of you and knock them back 3m. Hold the skill key down for 0.5 sec at Stage 2 to enhance the effect to Stage 3 and deal 455% electric damage 3 times to 8 enemies up to 9 m in front of you and knock them back 4.5 m. You will fire automatically when the skill key is held down for 3 sec at Stage 3.|
|Fires lasers at the closest enemy within 8 m, dealing 64% electric damage to 5 enemies within 2.25 m of your initial target every sec for 10 sec. If you have the Pulse Energy upgrade, the enhanced laser deals an additional 22% electric damage.|

|Heavy Gunner increases the damage of Bullet Spray, Gatling Fire, and Lock-on by 1.5%.|
|Drop a bomb 7.5 m in front of you which deals 174% fire damage to 8 enemies within 3 m. A second blast occurs after 0.5 sec, dealing 376% fire damage to 8 enemies within 6 m.|

Advanced Pulse Weapons
|Heavy Gunner increases the damage of his Magnetic Bomb and Electric Blast by 1.5%.|
|Heavy Gunner spawns a first aid kit that you or an ally can pick up after 1 sec to instantly restore 400 health.|
|Upgrade to high performance missiles which boosts the damage of Rocket Launcher, Homing Missiles, and M-Bomb by 1.5%.|
Blast Charge Kit
|Additional cannon optimizations modify Electric Blast so it can be cast repeatedly without cooling down in between casts, at the cost of lowered damage and SP. Blast Charge Kit increases the rapid fire state of Electric Blast damage by 1.5%.|
Heavy Gunner Builds
Heavy Gunner Blast Charge Kit/Electric Blast Build
Beginner friendly, level 50-60 build for end-game content, world bosses and dungeons.
This MS2 Heavy Gunner Build is based around the Electric Blast aka the laser skill. It's a really strong build that does really well in boss fights because of the huge amounts of damage it can do. By upgrading the Advanced Pulse Weapons node to 10 you'll have a lot of increased damage on Electric Blast along with Blast Charge Kit. Note that Rocket Launcher is not needed but does boost your DPS by quite a bit. Level 8 Rocket Launcher should be sufficient for any content if your build is Skill Point hungry.
Shoot Lock-On and after that use Electric Blast 3 times (you can also queue them up, use 2 before a boss encounter and then use the 3rd stack for more damage). Use Rocket Launcher as well if you've got the SP, whenever you run out of SP make sure to use Reload, it's an excellent skill that quickly replenishes your SP.
Heavy Gunner Bullet Spray Build
Bullet Spray is an awesome Skill that does a lot of damage at any level of content and paired with the other high damage skills it makes a killer combo.
The Bullet Spray MS2 Heavy Gunner build is quite similar to the first one, but instead of focusing on Blast Charge Kit you'll be using Bullet Spray more often. This build is excellent for any type of content as it has AoE and Single Target therefore only thing that limits you with this build are Skill Points, if you're leveling you won't have enough Skill Points for this.
The skill rotation for this build is simple: Lock On (once)->Rocket Launcher(once)->Magnetic Bomb(once)->Electric Blast(max charge)->Bullet Spray (hold down). Only use Bullet Spray once your other Skills are on cooldown. Whenever they come off cooldown make sure to cycle through them again. Don't forget that you can also charge the Electric Blast for more damage.
Bullet Spray in this build can be used by itself, you can spam it on it's own if you want to, but if you want to do the highest damage possible (very key intensive tho) then do the cycles mentioned above.
Heavy Gunner Lazy AFK Macro Build
The Lazy AFK Heavy Gunner is more of a meme build but it can be great for people that want to watch shows while grinding "boring" parts of MS2.
This Heavy Gunner Build utilizes Rockets, Missiles, M-Bomb and Electric Blast to deal a lot of AoE damage in order to speed clear through the content. The build itself is viable and you can use it while leveling to 50~60 before you unlock enough Skill Points to run one of the builds mentioned above.
All you need for this build is to configure your Macro. Put Rocket Launcher, Homing Missiles, M-Bomb and Electric Blast on a Macro and just hold a button while these spells decimate everything in your path. Doing Bosses with this is sub-optimal because you can't just afk those, most of boss fights involve dodging and using mobility skills but for leveling this build is more than fine.
