Demons are often overlooked by many players because they don’t know how useful their synergy really is. The Demon Origin champions are direct counters to TFT builds that rely on ultimate casters (Sorcerers, Elementalists, Shapeshifters…). Since six Demons are quite easy and fast to get they’re perfect for new players and people that have just moved to TFT after playing any other Auto Chess game. By choosing Demons you’ll have a plethora of options in regards to other Team Synergies because Demons are scattered around all Tiers. In this Teamfight Tactics 9.16 Demon Build guide we’ll be showcasing the strongest TFT 9.16 Demon team composition and how to pick the best possible champions that suit the Demon core setup.
The 9.16 Demon Team Comp in this article is viable for both Ranked and Casual TFT games!

Demon Team Buffs
Demon’s basic attacks have a 40% chance to burn all of the enemy’s current mana with each hit, and dealing True damage based on the mana burnt as well as returning mana to the attacker.
(2) Demons – Burn 20 mana and gain 15
(4) Demons – Burn 20 mana and gain 30
(6) Demons – Burn 20 mana and gain 45
Demons are accessible very early in the game and you’ll be able to roll for them relatively easy. The core 9.16 Demon team comp for the early game is going to be: Elise, Varus, Evelynn, Aatrox and Morgana. Even though Elise is a really bad champion in the current state of TFT, she’ll prove invaluable until you get Swain as she’ll allow you to get (6) Demons fast. There’s not much skill involved in running Demon 9.16 builds early on simply because you just need to keep buying and upgrading any Demon unit you get. Once you’ve acquired Brand it’s time to push for level six and put him in for the (6) Demon synergy.
Guinsoo’s Rageblade, Spear of Shojin and Statikk Shiv are the best items you can place on Varus because he’ll be recharging Mana fast which results in more ultimates per fight. The Bloodthirster, Titanic Hydra and Infinity Edge are items that are more suitable for Aatrox. Additionally, make sure to combine Rabadon’s Deathcap, Luden’s Echo, Morellonomicon and Warmog’s Armor whenever you can because you’ll need those during mid to late game.
During mid game there’s not much interesting happening for Demon builds. All you’ve got to do is level to six and acquire Brand & put him in for the (6) Demon bonus so they can burn enemies’ Mana down even quicker. After you’ve got the six Demon core: Varus, Elise, Evelynn, Aatrox, Morgana and Brand your next goal should be to keep improving your economy and leveling up & combining units.
Don’t rush level seven because all you can put in is Lissandra, so unless you can afford (or have to) push for level 8, don’t.
Same items loadout as before. Though, since you finally got Brand now, place Rabadon’s Deathcap, Luden’s Echo and Morellonomicon on him. Also try to get an additional Morellonomicon for later when you acquire Swain since that item works nicely on him as well.
As you approach the late game, there’ll be plenty of potential upgrades and team synergies that you can work on. With the (6) Demon core as the building block of this team composition, your goal should be to reach level 8 as fast as possible and place in Lissandra & Kennen for the 3 Elementalist bonus (though, you’ll want to replace the Kennen for Anivia as soon as you get her). Lastly, add Ashe on level 9 for the (2) Glacial and (2) Ranger bonus and make sure to gear her correctly to maximize her freezes.
As you acquire Swain, make sure to replace Elise for him because she’s useless compared to him. With Swain, you’ll be able to push for (3) Shapeshifters to make this build even more overpowered later on or just add an Imperial for a bit more consistent damage.
Same equipment setup as before, though as we mentioned previously you’ll want to get at least a Runaan’s Hurricane on Ashe (Statikk Shiv works well too). Placing Thornmail and Warmog’s Armor will make Swain unkillable, especially if you manage to get (3) Shapeshifters going.
Full Demon Team Composition Setup
The strongest 9.16 Demon 9 champion build consists of: Varus, Evelynn, Aatrox, Morgana, Swain, Brand, Lissandra, Anivia and Ashe. If you can somehow get your hands on two more Forces of Nature (4 Spatulas) then add Gnar & Shyvana to the team for (3) Shapeshifter synergy because it’ll make your Swain 1v9.
