Other Diablo 3 Season 20 Guides
Challenge Rift Reward
Once you’ve created your first Seasonal hero the best strategy is to make a game and then quickly leave & change the settings to the Challenge Rift. Provided you haven’t completed the Challenge Rift in season 20, go ahead and complete it. Upon completion, it will grant your season 20 fresh character a “Challenge Rifts Reward” which contains 5.1M Gold, a bunch of materials and Blood Shards which will surely come in handy for later.
Next part of the leveling phase is to rush Kanai’s Cube, to do so, head over to Act 3 Ruins of Sescheron, run to the end of the zone and get Kanai’s Cube. Once that’s done, level up both Mystic and Blacksmith NPCs to level 12. It’s crucial that this part is finished because it’ll allow you to use Kanai’s Cube with a powerful item.
Each character requires a different rare weapon to be crafted (though it must be level 70). Best weapons to craft and upgrade for the S19 level rushing strategy:
- Barbarian → 1H Mighty Weapon
- Necromancer → 2H Scythe
- Wizard → 1H Wand
- Demon Hunter → 1H Dagger
- Crusader → Crusader Shield
- Witch Doctor → Mojo
- Monk → 2H Daibo
Once the weapon is crafted, head over to Kanai’s Cube and do the 3rd recipe (Hope of Cain) which will upgrade the rare item into a random legendary. By doing so, you’ve got a pretty high chance of getting a good Legendary Item with a unique effect which you can then put in the Kanai’s Cube. If you’ve got an Ancient item that doesn’t have a desirable effect, it will still be useful as you can keep it to re-roll reduced level requirement by 40.
Best way to spend Blood Shards in S19
Now it’s time to spend those juicy Blood Shards you received from the Challenge Rifts reward box. By using a great D3 Blood Shards Planner tool, you can effectively see which items you can get for a class at a certain level. Head over to the site, choose your class and place the character on level one. With Squirt’s Necklace being a completely overpowered item right now in season 20, you’ll definitely want to try and gamble for it since you can get it at level one for any class.
Crafting a main weapon for lvl 35-40
Back to crafting, in this phase of the exp rush strat for S19 you’ll want to craft any lvl 70 two-handed rare weapon. The effect of choice on the weapon should be an effect like a fear or slow. Along with that, the best stat for this weapon is going to be life gained on hit. If your weapon doesn’t come with these modifiers, craft again until you get a weapon which does.
Once a lvl 70 weapon with a slow/fear/fear and LGoH is acquired, head over to the Mystic and re-roll the secondary affix that isn’t a slow, freeze or a fear effect. By having LGoH the secondary affix will only be able to roll Monster Kills Grant More Experience, Ignores Durability Loss and Level Requirement Reduction. Reroll until you get a value of 25 to 30+ Level Requirement Reduction as this weapon is going to carry you during mid-game leveling.
Fastest Leveling Strategies For 1-70 in S19
As we’re done with the leveling preparations, it’s time to actually go and level up. Take any follower’s weapon (they’re stronger than the common one you start out with) and make sure your game is in Hard mode. Look on the map for any Bounty that can be relatively easy and fast to complete as it’ll grant you a lot of yellow items that will be incredibly useful for rushing levels…
The best strategy for Diablo 3 Season 20 boosting levels by playing solo is to run through Halls of Agony 1/2 and get the Massacre bonus up and running (by killing mobs quickly and rushing so the bonus doesn’t run out and keeps getting reset). Clear it to level up very fast and if you’re an experienced player you can also try the strategy where you turn up the difficulty to Torment 6 and lead the monsters to the cleavers that can kill them and reward you with easy, fast xp.
For groups though, those first two strategies aren’t as good as running Rifts. If you have a group of players that did all of these preparations from this Diablo 3 S19 Leveling guide you’ll be clearing Rifts and leveling up crazy fast (1-70 in less than three hours, even for casuals and beginners).
Continuing the level progression, keep crafting new Rare Weapons and put Ruby gems in them as well as your Helmets and also don’t forget to check amulet/ring vendors early on as they’re a good damage boost.
What to do at level 70 in a new Season?
Once you’ve hit level 70 (which should be pretty quickly) make sure to complete the Season 20 Journey as it will reward you with a very solid set that can carry you through low level Greater Rifts so that you get more legendary items and keep improving on your build. In case you don’t know what build to choose at this point, we’ve got you covered in the Best S20 D3 Builds List.
